Capita is delighted to have been selected as a supplier for the newly launched Internet of Things (IoT) Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), provided by the Scottish Government. Becoming a named supplier augments the SWAN connectivity IoT platform, enabling both members and non-members to benefit from end-to-end IoT solutions.
A new, innovative technology, IoT allows data collection from tangible objects via sensors and network connectivity, which can then be analysed using advanced computer programmes, enabling organisations to make improved decisions. Examples of its use include: water level monitoring; air quality monitoring; footfall analysis and providing additional analytics for health and social care services.
The DPS for IoT aims to provide Scottish public sector and third sector bodies with a flexible, quick route to market for this emerging technology. Similar to a framework agreement, the DPS is an electronic system of pre-qualified IoT suppliers, from which Scottish public sector bodies can invite tenders. Buyers can benefit from a streamlined procurement process, easy access to a wide range of suppliers and services, in addition to standardised Terms and Conditions developed specifically for this arrangement.
