SWAN Small Site Managed Wi-Fi Service

The SWAN Small Site Managed Wi-Fi service offers a repeatable, centrally-managed Wi-Fi solution which can be easily rolled out across several similar sites to provide a common solution. After detailed evaluation with SWAN members it was determined that Meraki offered the optimum technology and management solution. In its simplest form it can ordered as a single WiFi Access Point (AP) which can be self-installed to a free port on a SWAN Managed CPE device, after remote pre-configuration from the SWAN Network Operations Centre (NOC).

This option is available as a standard catalogue item.  If you have a more complex requirement and would like a more specific design including for instance, a site survey to include multiple APs and advanced functionality, this can all be scoped and ordered within this Value-Added Service. These solutions can use the full range of Meraki WLAN, application, devices, and managed services; including as an example integration to your existing corporate authentication systems.

Service Overview

The SWAN Small Site Managed Wi-Fi service provides a centrally managed Wi-Fi solution for customers which can be applied across some or all of their connected sites. The minimum requirement for a site is that it has one SWAN networking hardware device with an unused port that can be configured as a wired network connection for a Meraki AP and which has Internet access. For the smallest sites there are two provisioning options: - Customer self-installation (using Contractor provided instructions) or which details are available on request - Contractor-managed installation This Value-Added Service supplements the standard Catalogue Service option for small sites, by expanding the capability to deliver more complex and integrated solutions across larger sites, utilising other specialist Meraki WLAN, devices, advanced features and applications.

  • Full Site survey services including predictive (off-site) and physical (on-site) options
  • Complex physical site deployments and associated cabling
  • Design, supply, installation, testing and support of enhanced security services, AAA (Authentication, Authorisation, and Accounting), RADIUS and Directory Services Integration
  • Enhanced BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) services
  • For existing Meraki Wi-Fi infrastructure we can audit and re-use where possible, as part of an overall refresh
